Conservation Commission Draft Minutes for April 5, 2007

Attending were:
Trisha McCarthy, Peter Mears, Pat Wonson, Nancy Slombo, Alicia Raddatz
Guests: Sandy Estabrook, Tim Brennan and Percy Wonson.

Trisha McCarthy called the meeting to order at 7:35 and a quorum was in place.

Minutes Review from March 15, 2007
-       Correction: Trisha called the meeting to order at 7:35.
          Minutes Review from March 30, 2007
-Under Land Acquisition, Alicia made a motion to make an offer and increase the amount if needed.
Alicia made a motion to Accept minutes as amended. Peter Seconded.
All in Favor.

Correspondence: - NPDES PII Small MS4 General Permit Annual Report.
                       - Legislative Bulletin, March 15, 2007
                       -Legislative Bulletin, March 30, 2007
                       -Ben Meadows Water Guide
-       2007 Budget Expenditures. Budget total is $3,250.11 with a variance of $2,899.11
-       Letter from DES requesting additional information regarding property located at 49 Wilders Grove Road.


Busch Farms:      -A note was made to check on the t-shirts for the bike race.
-       Busch Farm Day is scheduled with the 5th graders for Friday May 18, 2007.
-       Trisha made a motion for Alicia to spend up to $400.00 for items needed for the Busch Farm Day. Peter Seconded. All in Favor.


Trails:  Nothing to report at this time.


Land Acquisition: -The Pinkerton Farm is under Agreement.
- Trisha had left a message regarding land behind the Quaker Cemetery.
Wetland Cases:
-Committee led a discussion on the potential expansion of Whispering Pines Campground. Shoreland Protection and Reference line of County Pond should be included on the plans. There could be a possible impact on Shoreland protection, wetlands and aquifers. Committee will contact the Planning Board.
        - Committee received a complaint regarding  a Mack Truck leaking gear oil into wetlands on Zoe Lane. Trisha will contact the DES and EPA.
Old Business: Nothing to report at this time.

New Business: Trisha made a motion to appoint Sandy Estabrook as Alternate One and Tim Brennan as Alternate Two to the Conservation Committee, once approved by the Selectman.
Seconded by Peter.  All in Favor.

Other Business: Pat Wonson, Nancy Slombo, and Peter Mears were reappointed as regulars to the Conservation Committee.

Trisha made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:00pm.
Nancy Seconded.
All in Favor.
