Winter Reading Programs at the Gale Library
Winter Reading Programs at the Gale Library, Newton

Hey, kids, it's time for our winter reading program at the Gale Library, Newton, “No Time Like Snow Time To Read”. Registration for the program starts Jan 19 and continues through February. Receive a reading log to record each book you read, reach your goal and choose prizes from the treasure box. All readers are also eligible to win prizes at the program’s end. There will be drop-in crafts to make, and word puzzles, mazes, and games for use in the library or at home. Come to the Gale Library, find your “warm winter friends” and get started!!
Teens, if you're wondering how you're going to survive the cold winter months, stop by the Gale Library, Sign up for the teen "Winter Survival" reading group, and see our display of books full of adventure/survival. A good way to escape this winter is with a good book! We'll be using a ruler to keep track of the amount of books you read. How many inches can you read? Weekly prizes will be awarded. Stop in Wed. Jan 20, 6:30 PM to play Wii or discuss a favorite read with other teens.
For our adult readers, the “Arctic Blasters Reading Contest” is returning. Just register, read, and take a chance in a weekly prize lottery.
Weekly Storyhours continue each Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Hear about Snowmen, Snowflakes, Mitten Weather, and Bear Snores On in story and song followed by an easy craft.
Look for the start of the knitting/crochet group on Sat., Jan 23rd. Learn how to knit or crochet, get help with a project, or just enjoy working with friends.
Our Valentine Candy Contest will begin soon so visit the Children’s Room and make your best guess of candy hearts. You could be the next winner of them all.
If you missed WMUR’s Chronicle Program., Read with Reilly , a Paws to R.E.A.D. dog, and his many people friends who visit the library regularly to read to him, you can watch a repeat on the WMUR website under Chronicle. Reilly, the READ Dog, will return to read with his friends on Mondays at 6 PM starting Jan.25. Sign ups have begun. When  you have read with Reilly 5 times, he will “pawtograph” a book you have to chosen from the treasure box to keep.
