Boy Scout collection boxes are open for aluminum cans
FOR NEWTON RESIDENTS ONLY

Please crush (step on) gallon & ½ gallon milk/water containers!

Plastics
Unacceptable
NO needles in any containers
NO containers which previously contained hazardous or toxic chemicals, pool chemicals, motor oil, or anti-freeze
NO Bottle caps
NO boxes
NO buckets, tubs or pails
NO plastic Tableware (spoons, knives, or forks)

Acceptable
(PET) Plastic bottles, Soda bottles (any color), Juice & water bottles
(HDPE) Plastic bottles, Milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles, Ketchup, mustard, etc.
The jar opening must be small than the base of the container.
Plastics with recycling symbol numbers 1-7 noted on the container

Aluminum & Tin cans

Unacceptable
Needles, paint cans or lids, gas/fuel cans, light iron buckets or pails

Acceptable
Aluminum cans (all drink containers), Tin cans (all food & pet containers), Bi-metal cans (plastic & metal), “EMPTY” Aerosol cans and Aseptic Containers (small juice cans)

Plastic and metal containers do NOT have to be separated.
Containers do NOT need to have labels removed.
