Library Rules and Behavior Policy

Gale Library Policies

Library rules apply to all library patrons. Library rules exist to preserve the integrity of the mission, goals and objectives of the Gale Library. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please Do Not:

  • Leave children under age ten ( 10 ) unattended.
  • Eat or drink in the library, except at designated times or in designated areas.
  • Engage in loud or disruptive behavior.
  • Smoke or use any other controlled substance.
  • Loiter or solicit.
  • Disturb or harass other patrons or library staff in any way whatsoever (i.e. vulgar language, inappropriate physical contact).
  • Enter the library dressed inappropriately (i.e. without shoes, shirt, etc.).
  • Cause purposeful damage to library materials, equipment, furniture or property.
  • Bring animals into the library (except for guide animals, or those included in library projects).
  • Skateboard, rollerblade or ride bikes in the parking lot or near entrances.

Please Also Note:

  • Library staff is not responsible for any personal belongings left unattended.
  • Library telephones may be used at the staff’s discretion.
  • Please respect the rights and privacy of others. Please respect the rights of others to use library facilities and materials.
  • Library staff will use judgment and discretion at all times in the interpretation of the library rules.
