Steve Pessotti, Local retirement planner and guest speaker from SOFA (The Society for Financial Awareness) will present an educational workshop on Advanced Retirement Planning Strategies at Gale Library on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 2-3:30pm or 6:15-7:45pm.

The Society for Financial Awareness (SOFA) strives to create and maintain a national presence of excellence through its membership, working to eliminate financial illiteracy, enlighten the public through financial education, empower all individuals to take charge of their finances, and embrace communities by building relationships through trust, integrity and public service. Steve offer’s these free seminars as a community service.

Most people are so busy with the day to day job of living they don't have time to acquire the financial education necessary to secure a wealthy and prosperous future. The SOFA is a 501c3 non- profit, educational speaker's bureau, comprised of various professionals (financial, tax, real estate, mortgage, wellness, and estate planning) to provide overall financial education to various individuals and organizations.

Through workshops and seminars, SOFA introduces keys to a successful and wealthy future.
Workshops also help people to become aware of planning for the future, risk management, and protection strategies. Each workshop is customized to assist individuals in identifying and qualifying his/her personal and family financial planning needs. All educational programs are available at NO CHARGE to corporate and community groups for the advancement of financial education.

For the Advanced Retirement Planning Strategies workshop, attendees will learn about:

• Ancillary Documents-Learn about Durable Power of Attorney, HIPPA compliant Medical Power of Attorney, Health Care Proxy and Pour-over Will.*
• Life Estates- Learn how to protect your real estate from Nursing Home liens.*
• Nursing Home/Medicaid Rules- Learn about 5 year look back and asset limitations for Single and Married taxpayers. *
• Getting Fiscally Fit-Learn how to create lifetime income streams for ongoing cash flow.
• Financial Blunders-Learn how to preserve and protect assets against risk.
• Lump Sum vs. Pension Income Payouts- Learn about the benefits and disadvantages of distributions.
• Social Security- Learn about the major changes.
