Blast Off to the Gale Library This Summer!

            Readers of all ages  are shooting for the stars and reading and winning prizes as the Gale Library, Newton begins their Summer Reading Program, “Universe of Stories”. Activities include lots of stories, music,Astronauts and aliens, planets, stars and UFO’s  along with reading clubs for Read To Me, Independent Readers, Teen/tween, and Adults. Registration and program sign ups have begun and are ongoing.  Activities and programs begin June17, and are non-stop until Aug. 6.

            Students entering Grade 6 through Grade 12 have their own Reading program with special Canobie Lake, Water Country, and Cinema passes as weekly prizes. Sign up and read through August 6. There are many programs open to all ages. We are also looking for teen helpers to assist children at the Out of this World Party on June 24. If you can help please call or drop in the Gale Library and check out the dates available.

            Join us for Mr Aaron’s Intergalactic Spectacular who will entertain you and have you laughing on Mon.July 15 at 6:30 PM. Count on a thrilling musical adventure with award winning musician Mr. Aaron!  Awarded “Best Children's Performer” from New Hampshire Magazine, Mr. Aaron never fails to delight audiences of all ages. Kids and grown-ups alike dance, sing, and laugh along to hits from his pop favorites, kids classics, and much more!             

            The Museum of Science with the portable Planetarium and “The Night Sky” returns on Wed June 19 at 5:45 or 6:30PM.There will be two sessions so sign up soon.Enter The Boston Museum of Science inflatable planetarium.Observe a realistic model of the nighttime sky. Learn how to find planets, constellations, important stars, and astronomical objects.

            Make Crafts like Dreamcatchers on July 1and Moon and Space Rocks on July 22 .

            Learn how to fashion Out of This World Hairdos with Cait on July 31. Bring your hair twists, comb, brush and bobby pins.

            Meet us at the Town Beach to Blast Off Rockets Storyhour on July 10.    The NHSPCA will visit and bring some animal friends on Wednesday, June 26 at 2 PM. Come learn about some of the pets that can be adopted, The SPCA has a Wish list of items that could be used to care for these animals on the web site and at the library so donations from used towels to paper towels and food would be appreciated.

            Weekly Storyhours on Tuesday at 10 will have us Stories, Singing, Dancing, and Crafts- having lots of fun.

            Buzz Lightyear and his Journal are ready to go on trips to record all the fun you have together. Sign up on his calendar and take him on your next trip.

            The Candy Jar is ready for your best guess to win them all. Come discover what’s in there!

            Saturday Drop in Crafts begin on June 29 and Friday Flics on June 20 in our cool AC children’s room. Bring your own drink and pals, we’ll supply a snack!
