October Happenings at the Gale Library, Newton

Grab those pumpkins! You’re invited to  annual Gale Library Pumpkin Carving Party on Monday. Oct. 28 at 6:00 PM at the Country Pond Fish and Game, Pond St. The library staff and volunteers will have all the stencils, tools, and assistance you will need. Please bring your own cleaned-out pumpkin ready for carving and a snack for the refreshment table. Always a great night for young and old to make the most awesome carvings. It’s always amazing to see the pumpkins all lit up. Make sure to bring a camera.

Even if you can’t make your own pumpkin, drop in after 7:00 PM to view and admire the Pumpkin Gallery!

Baby Play Date is scheduled for Friday, Oct  25 at 10 AM. This program is designed for the youngest members of our community and their parents or caretakers to come and explore different activities the library has to offer.

These activities include music and instrument exploration, coloring, physical activities like playing with balls and a parachute, a general familiarization of the library, books, media and other programs it has to offer. This program is a great way to introduce children in a social setting and allows parents and caretakers to get to know their neighbors and potential playmates for the children in their care. Come and join us for a Friday morning of fun!

Drop in anytime at the Gale Library to choose a scary read from our great selection of Halloween Books. While you’re there, take a guess at how many candies are in our Great Pumpkin Jar. If yours is the closest guess, you win them all.

Come join us for Storyhour each Tuesday at 10:00 with  Pumpkin Patch, and Halloween tales, songs, and crafts. The Halloween Party Storyhour will be on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 10:00 AM. Young and old wear your costumes for Halloween songs, games, and treats.

The Friends of the Gale Library will be waiting to “TREAT” you to goodies on Thurs. Oct. 31 from 5-8 PM. Drop in, snack up, and warm up.
