                                      “Go for the Gold- Read!” at the Gale Library

            Let the games begin! The Olympic Winter Games are here at the Gale Library, Newton. “Go for the Gold- Read!”, the Winter Reading Programs will start  on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and continue through March 2nd. There are programs and prizes for all ages. 

            Children color a snowflake for each 20 minutes they read on a reading log. When they reach their goal, they choose prizes and new books from the treasure box. All readers are entered into the program’s raffles for weekly prizes. We will celebrate the finale with a Bingo For Books night on Mon. March 2.

            Teens and Adults also can join the Winter Read Program! Just register, read, and take a chance in our prize drawings. Teens can win passes to ONeil Cinemas in Epping!

            Come to the Gale Library, find some good books and Go for the Gold- Read!

            Join us for your Girl Scout Information Night on Monday, Jan 13, at 6 PM.This is a free session to explore the many Girl Scout programs, to enjoy fun activities, to learn about volunteer opportunities, and to register and receive a free Discover Girl Scouts embroidered patch. Skills Today, Success Tomorrow! 

            Afterschool Lego Build on Wednesday , Jan. 22 at 3:30. Drop in for and relax  with an hour of building. We have challenges, kits, or your own ideas to try. Bring a friend ad a drink, snack provided. 

            The Library will be closed on January 20 , MLK Day. 

            On  Wednesday, January 8 at 2:00 p.m. There will be an Early Release  Movie Matinee at 2 PM showing The Lion King  which is rated PG and runs for 118 minutes. A snack will be provided but bring your own drink.

            Celebrate National Puzzle Day on Saturday, Jan 25 at the library! There are lots of puzzles for all ages from tots to teens and adults to build at the library or to borrow or swap.

            Let’s build! Join us for a fun hour of building with Legos, CoolFlakes, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, K’next, Gears, Gears, Gears or Snap Circuits. Bring a friend or work alone and build on Monday, Feb 10 at 6:00 p.m.

            Drop in for Baby Play Date on Fridays at 10 AM. This is for children up to 2 years old but older siblings are welcome. Play with Balls, Blocks, Parachute, toys, while you meet other caregivers. 

            Storyhour continues with stories, songs, and crafts about Winter Critters, Mitten Weather, Go for the Gold, Build a Snowman,  and all things Winter on Tuesdays at 10 AM.
