Gale Library Closing Policy

In the event of weather-related closings or delays the library will make the decision to open or close the library at the discretion of the Library Director and/or a member of the Board of Trustees.

In the case of power outages, the library will close after 1 hour during the day, and ½ hour during the evening (after 4:00 pm).

Fines will not be charged for any day on which the library is closed.

Staff members will be paid for their shift if they had been previously scheduled.

This policy is to help ensure the safety of our patrons and staff, and allows for snow removal and the clearing of roads.
