“Build A Better World”’ at the Gale Library, Newton

 

             Summer is a great time to build and create and have fun with friends! The Gale Library is the perfect place to help your imagination take off!.  Join us this summer for books, movies, music,  games, crafts, activities, performers,  prizes and fun….  And together we can  “Build A Better World”  2017 New Hampshire Summer Reading Program. 

            The library has been awarded a Kids, Books and Arts Grant to bring Magic by George for our Summer Reading Program with a wonderfully funny  program with an emphasis on audience participation, magic, and lots of comedy to amuse the whole family. The performance is scheduled to be held at the Newton Town Hall on Wed., July 19, at 6:30 PM and is open to all. 

            The program is brought to you by the Gale Library. Funding for the Kids, Books, and Arts event is provided by the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation, CHILIS, the Cogswell Benevolent Trust, and is supported in part by a grant from NH State Council on the Arts & the National Endowment for the Arts as well as funds administered by the NH State Library and provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences.

            The Boston Museum of Science returns with a ”Science Magic” program on July 24. Be sure to sign up for this one. 

            The NHSPCA  will visit on Wed., June 28 at 2:00 PM with stories and live pets to cuddle and learn about. Always a great program for children and adults who love animals!

            Get ready to join our Reading Clubs for all ages. Read to Me, Independent and Chapter Book Readers, Teens and Adults. Win prizes, ( ice cream and pizza, puzzles, bowling, Canobie Lake, Water Country, Storyland Tickets, and  more).  Go for the Gold and enter our Olympics, Dance, Dance, Dance, Play Games, MineCraft, Try some Yummy Healthy Treats, Build Fairy Houses, Make Sports Carryalls, Eat an Ice Cream Sundae and more.

            Thanks to the Friends of the Library we now offer a pass to the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH.Each pass admits two adults and up to four children into the Seacoast Science Center at 50% off the cost of regular admission. http://www.seacoastsciencecenter.org.

            The Friends of the Library will hold their annual Book Sale on Saturday, June 10 at Estabrooks Garage, So. Main St. Be sure to stop in and fill a bag of books for summer reading for all ages.There is also a White Elephant table.
