Museum Passes |
(A F) Adult Fiction –
These books are arranged on shelves in alphabetical order, using the first three letters of the author’s last name. They are located on the first floor in the Adult room.
(ANF) Adult Non-Fiction -
These books are found by using the Dewey Decimal System. They are located on the 1st floor.

(ANF 920) Biography & Autobiography –
These are shelved in alphabetical order by name of the person the book is about. They are located on the back wall on the first floor.
(A F PB) Paperbacks –
These books are found on the white rack in the Adult room.
(A F LP) Large Print –
These books are on the front wall under the last window in the Adult room.
(AREF) Adult Reference –
These books are for in-library use only and are located to your right as you enter the Adult room.
(Audbk) Audio Book –
These are found next to the circulation desk.
(Mag) Magazine –
These are located across from the circulation desk. Lift the tilt shelves for older issues. There are children’s and young adult magazines on the second floor.
(CD) Compact Disks –
The disks are in the Adult room, to the right.
(DVD) Digital Video Disks –
These are located in the Video room and on the circulation desk.
(E F) Early Fiction –
These books are for preschoolers through 3rd grade. They are located on the second floor in the “E” room. This room is to your right at the top of the stairs.
(E F BEG/E F EASY) Early Fiction Beginner/Easy Reader –
These books are in the E room to the right.
(E F PB) Early Fiction Paperbacks –
These books are in the E room in the blue cart.
(E F CHA) Early Fiction Chapter –
These are located in the J room in the tan bookstand. The J room is to your left at the top of the stairs.
(ENF) Early Non-Fiction –
These books are in the hallway on the second floor. They also follow the Dewey Decimal System.
(J F) Juvenile Fiction –
These books are for children from 4th grade and up. The J room is to your left at the top of the stairs. Story Hour takes place here.
(JNF) Juvenile Non-Fiction –
These books follow the Dewey Decimal System. They are also in the J room.
(J F PB) Juvenile Fiction Paperbacks –
These books are found in the stairwell to the 2nd floor.
(JREF) Juvenile Reference –
These books are located in the J room and are for in-library use only.
Circulation –
All material is on loan for 3 weeks except CDs & DVDs, which are a 1 week loan. You may renew items over the phone.
Returns –
Please return materials by putting them in the slot in the circulation desk. There is also a slot in the 2nd floor circulation desk in the J room. There is a book drop on the front stairs that can be used when we are not open.
Interlibrary Loans –
If we do not have a book you would like we can use the interlibrary loan system and try to get it for you. Please ask the librarian for details.

Tuesday 10:00 am.
Book Review Circle –
Meets the third Friday of every month at 1:00 p.m.
Friends of the Gale Library –
Meet the second Tuesday of every month at 1:00 pm.

The Friends of the Gale Library have once again generously purchased discounted passes to the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH.
The Seacoast Science Center (SSC) is now using an online ticketing platform. Pass holders should purchase tickets in advance to ensure entry due to limited capacity and scheduled visitation.
