To protect the lives, property and environment of the residents of Newton from the threat or occurrence of emergencies resulting from any natural or man-made disaster, including but not limited to flood, fire, earthquake, windstorm, tsunami, drought, terrorism, epidemic, hurricanes and tornadoes. 

Take steps to prepare your family for an emergency.  Sign up for E911 Alerts through the State of New Hampshire Emergency Alert System.  Discuss with your family members what they should do in an emergency and how you will contact each other.   

Newton's Emergency Management Department can keep on file, your contact information and also if you have pets.  Let us know if you have a generator and make sure it is not running in your home, garage, under a window or under a dryer vent.  If you are not sure if it's location is correct, call us and we can take a look.
