Let the games begin! The Olympic Winter Games are here at the Gale Library, Newton. “Go for the Gold- Read!”, the Winter Reading Programs will start  on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and continue through March 2nd. There are programs and prizes for all ages.

Children color a snowflake for each 30 minutes they read or are read to on a reading log. When log is complete, bring in to redeem for a book from Treasure Chests and prize from Bucket. Keep reading and coloring. Each completed sheet is an entry into Prize Drawing.

We will celebrate the finale with a Bingo For Books night on Mon. March 2.

Teens and Adults also can join the Winter Read Program! Just register, read, and take a chance in our prize drawings. Teens can win passes to O’Neil Cinemas in Epping!

Come to the Gale Library, find some good books and Go for the Gold- Read!

The Winter Olympics will be here soon. Let’s get the kids involved in this global event by having our own mini Go for the Gold Games at the Library  on Monday, February 3 at 6 PM.

Try hockey with paper towel hockey sticks and a little Frisbee curling. Make your own luge from Legos and race it on our chutes or build your Ski Jumper and measure how far it jumps.

There’ll be crafts to make like Ski Jumper, Magnetic Skaters, and coloring pages, as well as Power Punch and Snacks to keep our energy up.

We’ll end our games with a Parachute Closing Ceremony.
