Wizard Workshop at the Gale Library!

The new Harry Potter related movie is coming out in November!

It’s a perfect time for a Potter party!

Join us at the Gale Library on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 PM for a fantastic Wizards Workshop designed for Harry Potter fans, ages 7 and up!  Learn to perform magic from Throckmorton, a wizard trying to earn himself a teaching position at Hogwarts. If Throckmorton can prove his teaching ability with lowly Muggles, then he will be granted a faculty position at Hogwarts. That’s the concept behind this most unique program.

You’ll be immersed in a totally unique experience-  learning how to perform real magic tricks from a fully-costumed wizard. All of the magic tricks can be easily mastered, and you’ll receive all of the props needed to perform these magical effects. In addition, each student will receive his or her very own magic wand!     Sign up is needed to make sure there are enough wands, so come in or call 382-4691 to register.

Drop in to the Library to browse through and vote for your favorite picture book for the NH Ladybug Award until Wednesday, Nov 28. The Ladybug Picture Book Award is designed to honor the best in recent children's picture books. Children's librarians from around NH select the titles then children and adults can read and browse through the books and vote for your favorite.

November is Fine Free Month at the Gale Library.  All fines will be waived in exchange of non-perishable grocery items that will be distributed to the Newton Food Pantry.  Please bring in items such as canned goods, paper goods, pasta, and holiday supplies that are in saleable condition and within their expiration date.  These community supplies are welcomed and will benefit your neighbors in need.

The Friends of the Gale Library are accepting themed-baskets and gift certificates for their annual Christmas Basket Raffle.  Tickets will once again sell for only $1.00 each or 6/$5.00.  All items will be raffled and distributed before the Christmas Holiday.  Donations from local businesses and community members are appreciated and inform the public of services/resources that are available.  Thank you in advance for your donation to the Friends!
