Here at the Gale Library, we have lots of fun events happening for all ages in the month of December! Make sure to add these great programs to your calendar!

On Sat., December 2, all ages are welcome to drop in between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. we will be making pinecone ornaments to hang outside for our wild bird friends!

On Tues., December 5 at 7 p.m. we will be part of a Zoom Baking Demo and Discussion with Chef Erin Jeanne McDowell hosted by Ashland Public Library if you would like to be part of this discussion register at https://tinyurl.com/Gl-ChefErin . Chef Erin will be displaying one of her many culinary creations, but if you would like to see some of her recipes the Gale Library has two of her books available for borrowing!

All ages are welcome to drop in on Sat., December 9 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to create two ornaments; one a funky sparkle magnet and the other a snow globe type ball ornament!

On Wed., December 13 at 6 p.m. ages 7+ are invited to create a delicate pot and bell ornament. This program requires the use of non-washable paint so crafting clothes are recommended. This program also requires a pre-registration so please contact the library id you would like to attend.

On Fri., December 15th the winners of the Holiday Basket Raffle will be pulled so come get your tickets ASAP! Tickets are $1 each or six for $5! You can’t win if you don’t take a chance! All proceeds go to the Friends of the Gale Library.

No school on Fri., December 22nd means a movie at the library! Come by at 12:30 p.m. and join us in watching a man who believes he is one of Santa’s helpers and when he realizes that he isn’t — hilarity ensues! And the movie is.....Elf (2003)! We will have simple crafts and snacks available to attendees.

Looking for something fun to do the day after Christmas? Do you have all kinds of used wrapping paper, tissue paper and bows that still have “life” in them? Join us Tues., December 26 from 10 a.m. -12:30 p.m. to create fashion from trash with all that recyclable wrapping, we’ll provide glue, staples, a hot glue gun as well as some wrapping and ribbon – whatever you need to make your creation a reality! Then come back at 6 p.m. on Wednesday for our Trashion Show to show off that recycled look!

Calling all parents of littles from ages 0+, Family Storytime meets weekly on Tuesdays 10 a.m. We celebrate a new theme each week; read three themed books, do a movement or learning activity/song and work together making an in-house craft. The themes for December are: Transportation: December 5, Winter: December 12, and Holidays: December 19. There will be no storytime on Tues., December 26.

As always the Yarn Club is happy to welcome new members to meet with them on Fridays at 1 p.m., all types of yarn crafts are welcome. The members also enjoy answering questions and helping get interested members started.
