Gale Library News

March has certainly come in like a lion and we at the Gale Library are feeling lucky that it will go out like a lamb!

This month we’ll be hosting a “Make Your Own Leprechaun Trap” craft night on Wednesday, March 15th at 6pm. This program is open for all ages though we do ask that you pre-register by calling 603-382-4691, emailing galelibyouthservices@comcast.net or stopping by the library during our open hours. We will be using recycled items to create our leprechaun traps and we invite participants to bring additional items they think might entice a leprechaun into their trap! We also have a great assortment of Saint Patrick’s Day themed books for you to check out!

In celebration of the first day of spring, we will be hosting a spring-themed drop-in craft creating silk flower pinch pots and wind socks on Saturday, March 25th between the hours of 10 and 12. This craft is open to all ages and does not require pre-registration.

As always we would like to invite you to join our Yarn Club on Fridays at 1pm, all levels of experience are welcome! As well as pre-school storytime on Tuesdays at 10am, registration is not required for regular weekly events.

Don’t forget to come get your raffle tickets for a chance to win the lovely hand-made quilt donated by Newton’s own very talented Carol Szot! The tickets are 1 for $5 or 3 for $10. The drawing will be held on May 26th.

Looking for something to do? In the Youth Room we have a new Craft Cart available if you’re feeling creative, as well as LEGOs and a STEM activity table. Each month we have a scavenger hunt and would love help decorating our youth bulletin board. The library also offers a wide range of jigsaw puzzles for adults and fun cake pans available to borrow.
