                                    Summer Reading Fun at Gale Library

 

            Thanks to Water Country, Portsmouth, and Leo’s Superbowl , Amesbury passes are being raffled off at our events, Canobie Lake passes are being won by our Teen/tween readers and ice cream certificates from Hodgies, Amesbury, What’s the Scoop, Kingston, and Storyland, Glen Nh passes are being won by our younger readers. There is still time to read and win prizes.

            Turn ordinary flip flops into  Simply Fantastic Flip Flops on Wednesday, July 26 at 2 PM. Flip flops and decorative materials are provided but sign up is needed as sizes are limited. If you have any special flowers, beads, ribbon or other material you’d like to use, feel free to bring them.

            Be challenged to build a maze, machine, or landmark or ride the zip line at the Lego Build Challenge on Monday, July 31 at 6:30 PM. Build alone or with a partner. Legos are provided. Bring imagination! Limited to 12 kids, Ages 5-10, so sign up  is needed.

            Drop in for Saturday Crafts until noon and make a craft or build with our building kits.

            Enjoy a cool afternoon at the Movie Matinee on Wednesday, August 2 at 2 PM in air-conditioned comfort. Call the library for the title of this child friendly release. Snacks will be provided, bring your own drink.

            Story hour on Tuesday, August 1 at 10 AM features Bridges to Everywhere. Have a fun time listening to stories, singing songs and building with all kinds of materials.

            The Annual Ice Cream parties will be held for all Summer Readers on Monday, August 7 and for Storyhour Readers on Tuesday, August 8 at 10 AM. All Reading logs need to be submitted by August 12 for prize awards.

            Topsfield Fair Reading Incentive goals need to be reached by August 9. If you signed up to receive this great reading prize from the Topsfield Fair, make sure your reading log is set. Thanks to Topsfield Fair! 

            Passes to York Animal Kingdom in York, Me and Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH are available for reduced prices thanks to the Friends of The Gale Library.
