Memorial Day Parade 2023

Newton will host a slow-moving rolling Memorial Day Parade throughout the Town on May 29, beginning at 10 a.m. from the Safety Complex at 8 Merrimac Road. The Parade will drive by all five Town cemeteries and pause for a special salute at Highland Cemetery, then end at Willow Grove Cemetery, on Whittier Street, at approximately 11 a.m. At Willow Grove Cemetery, an Honors commemoration will be conducted to remember all Military men and women who served throughout history.

The Parade will travel from South Main Street, Rte. 108, to North Main Street to Highland Street to West Main Street to Whittier Street. The route also includes Sargent Woods, Williamine Drive, Peaslee Crossing, Thornell Road and Georges Way. An assortment of Military vehicles, Police vehicles, antique cars, Fire trucks and motorcycles will ride in the Parade. They will be joined by local groups and organizations at Packer Meadows location and proceed to the Cemetery. Flags and programs will be handed out at Willow Grove Cemetery.

Speakers will include Town Moderator Robert Dezmelyk, Board of Selectmen Member Matthew Burrill, and Representative Ken Wyler. Amanda Leigh will sing the Star-Spangled Banner. Joe Incontri, Elder at Just Church, will give the prayer invocation. This year's Grand Marshal is Lt. Jim Ryan.

Veterans or organizations who wish to participate in the Parade may contact BoSSecretary@newtonnh.net. Vehicles are available for Veterans to ride in the Parade.
